The climate targets for 2030 have been set. We are all called upon to confront the challenges of our times and ensure that we leave as little a mark on nature as possible. That is also true in our industry, especially as regards the environmental impact of freight transport. Freight forwarders face the challenge of reducing the CO2 output in logistics chains, and businesses have strict requirements to cut emissions. At TX, we are happy to take on responsibility for our customers’ obligations, by providing transport solutions that really make a difference.
At the same time, we see ourselves as a driving force in a stressful environment with extreme pressure of time: by 2030, the market share of rail freight is expected to grow to at least 25 percent. That would require a disproportionate increase in rail transport services. As a rail freight operator, we fundamentally support the idea. For years, we have been campaigning for a shift from road to rail. However, in the context of ambitious goals, there needs to be an honest debate about what we wish for and what reality dictates. Are we actually prepared? To take the load off the roads? To give priority to rail freight?
In a stimulating panel discussion, we critically question targets and timeframes and venture a constructive look at the future: 2030 | What is needed? What can we contribute? Join us on a journey through time to the year 2030. We will talk about the importance of intermodal transport, the importance of investments in infrastructure and digitalization, and the importance of people who simply get things done.
The future is on track(s). We take you there.
