TX Logistik puts last of 40 new Vectron locomotives into service

February 9, 2026

Troisdorf, 9 February 2026 – TX Logistik AG, a company of FS Logistix, brought the final of its 40 modern Vectron locomotives into service at the end of 2025. The company ordered the locomotives from Siemens Mobility in 2023. The investment aimed to phase out some rental models, enabling TX Logistik to operate more flexibly in the market with its own fleet. Since the first Vectron was delivered in September 2024, TX Logistik has covered more than five million kilometres in intermodal transport with the new locomotives. TX Logistik owns and leases a total of 90 locomotives, which have covered around 13.5 million kilometres during this period.

TX Logistik is part of FS Logistix, the freight logistics brand of the FS Italiane Group. It is responsible for rail freight transport within the European intermodal network. Building its own fleet of vehicles is an important step towards strengthening the network further. At the same time, the modern Vectron locomotives will make transport even more sustainable. They will primarily be used on the north-south European axes via the Brenner Pass and through Switzerland. These heavily trafficked corridors place high demands on the locomotives used, from tractive power and stability to cross-border system compatibility.

TX Logistik ordered the locomotives with various country packages. The first 20 Vectron locomotives, equipped for operation in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands (D-A-CH-I-NL), were delivered by early 2025. Delivery of the 20 locomotives equipped for operation on the German-Austrian-Italian corridor (D-A-I) has now been completed with the commissioning of the last Vectron ordered.

According to TX Logistik, the new locomotives’ flexibility and performance offer ideal technical conditions for meeting the growing demands of European freight transport. In the medium term, the company will be able to increase capacity on the Brenner and Swiss corridors and further improve the efficiency and reliability of rail freight transport with the modern Vectron fleet.
